Looking for something ridculously easy to make for a holiday gathering?  Look no further.  You may have seen these little goodies as they’ve grown in popularity the past few years.  Usually, I see them with a square pretzel and a regular chocolate Hershey’s Kiss or Hug topped with a red or green M&M candy.  My mom makes little “turtles” by using a Rolo topped with a pecan halve. 

I had a neighborhood party/Toys for Tots fundraiser to go to last night and thought these would be simple and fast to make mid-week.  With all the different flavored Kisses out there these days, you can get really creative with this recipe.  I happen to love the Candy Cane Kisses so thought I’d use those and top them with a dark chocolate holiday M&M.  (Note: I could not find the square pretzels at my store.  I used mini twists and they worked just fine).

I couldn’t wait until they were cooled and set to try one…I think I may have heard angels singing.  Sooooooo good!! 

The basic recipe is the same no matter what type of candy and topper you use.  Just follow the directions below and use whatever chocolate and candy or nut you like!

Candy Cane Pretzel Treats

Heat oven to 350°.

Spray a large baking sheet with cooking spray.  Line with parchment paper.  It’s important you line your pan so that the melted chocolate won’t stick to your tray.

(Note:  the spray helps hold the parchment paper in place so it doesn’t slide around.  If you are using a rimmed baking sheet, you can skip the spray and just line with parchment.  Alternatively, you can also use a silpat liner).

Unwrap your Candy Cane Kisses (or other Hershey Kiss flavor you like).

Lay out some pretzels on the lined baking sheet and put a Kiss on top.

Place the tray in the oven for 3-5 minutes, just until the chocolate starts to melt down (and the Kiss starts to “cave in”).

Remove from the oven and immediately place an M&M on top.  Allow to cool and set (you can place in the refrigerator if you need them to cool faster).
